Home/LV Switchboard Replacement
When a commercial facility required a critical infrastructure upgrade to its electrical distribution network, a meticulous approach was essential to minimise downtime. The site needed a complete replacement of its main low voltage electrical infrastructure, requiring the integration of a new custom-built system with existing distribution pathways while ensuring uninterrupted operations and strict adherence to safety protocols.
The project demanded careful engineering to handle high-capacity electrical loads safely. The scope centred on the supply and installation of a robust, custom-built low voltage switchboard, featuring a 1250A incoming breaker and a 630A outgoing breaker. This new hardware had to be precisely tailored to interface seamlessly with the facility’s existing network layout.
HFL managed the project through a structured, multi-stage delivery timeline focused on safety and precision. First, the team carefully removed and responsibly disposed of the ageing switchboard. Next, they coordinated the delivery and installation of the new custom unit, followed by the intricate termination and connection of existing electrical infrastructure. Rigorous protection settings, comprehensive testing and commissioning were then carried out before executing a safe re-energisation of the building’s electrical supply.
Thanks to meticulous planning, coordination and a strong focus on safety, the project was completed successfully without complications. The installation provided the facility with a modern, reliable electrical distribution system, significantly enhancing the resilience and future-proofing of the site’s critical power infrastructure.
