When an inspection of the healthcare facility’s heating infrastructure revealed significant plant obsolescence alongside a critical non-compliant flue, an immediate intervention was required to ensure ongoing safety and operational continuity. HFL Building Solutions Group stepped in to deliver a comprehensive upgrade, replacing the aging heating assets and addressing regulatory compliance issues directly on site.
The medical centre faced a major operational vulnerability due to three failing existing boilers and associated flues that no longer met modern standards or efficiency requirements. Delivering critical plant upgrades within a live, occupied healthcare environment required meticulous planning and minimal disruption to daily clinical services and patient care.
HFL managed the project through a structured, multi-phase delivery timeline. The team first removed the three legacy boilers and non-compliant flues, subsequently executing the mechanical installation of a modern, high-efficiency heating solution. Alongside the physical installation, engineers carried out comprehensive Building Management System (BMS) and controls verification to ensure seamless integration, reviewed and validated control set points and operating parameters, and performed pre and postinstallation commissioning, flow validation, testing and balancing to confirm peak performance.
The project successfully delivered a reliable, modernised heating system tailored to the demands of a busy healthcare environment. By completing rigorous performance verification and handing over full documentation, the team ensured the new setup met all design and regulatory requirements while significantly improving long-term efficiency and safety for the medical centre.
