Kick Starter Trainee shares his experience at the Lowry

Tommy Brown joined HFL as a trainee under Salford City Council's Kick Start Scheme, supporting HFL senior engineers at the Lowry Theatre and Gallery in Salford Quays.

Tommy gives a brief glimpse into his experience to date: "So far I've enjoyed my time at HFL and feel privileged to be working at a prestigious site like the Lowry Theatre. A large and complex site like the Lowry has allowed me to learn a great deal and gain first hand experience in many areas like electrics, plumbing, HVAC and general maintenance as well as working on my customer service skills. In general, I feel I have started to develop a good knowledge base. The engineers I work with have a lot of experience and therefore have been a great source of knowledge and guidance when I have needed it. Other HFL and Lowry staff that I have met have been generally friendly and welcoming and this has helped me settle in easier. Having already gotten so much out of my short time at HFL, I very much look forward to the future and what it will bring."
